Calypso is the name of the planet where the game takes place. It is initially an inhospitable place with no native life, below freezing temps, and a toxic atmosphere.
The day cycle is nearly identical to that of Earth's. Each day lasting 24 hours. Weeks, however, last eight days instead of Earth's seven.
Week
The week consists of 8 days, their names in order are:
- Lusday
- Chiday
- Auday
- Ferday
- Zeday
- Ursday
- Voiday
- Homday
Homday is the weekend, where most colonists rest and relax, not working in their stores. At the end of every Homday, the player receives 
500 in wages from the PGP. Food for the colonists for the next week is due by the end of Homday.
